Nerukoneko Privacy Policy
PanMarie Studio (“we,” “us,” or “the Studio”) cares deeply about the privacy of everyone who plays our iOS game “Nerukoneko” (“the App”). This policy explains, in plain language, how the App handles information about you.
Our Approach
The App never asks for information that could identify you personally — your name, email address, phone number, or account details. There isn’t even a field to enter a name or nickname. Your sleep-related records (how far you played, your star fragments, the last mini-game you played) stay entirely on your device and are never sent to the Studio or to any third-party server. The communication we do carry out — to improve the App and to deliver notices — is limited to forms that do not identify you personally (the details are in each section below).
Information We Collect
The App exchanges only two kinds of information with the outside world: (1) anonymous usage statistics and error reports that help us improve the App (see “Advertising and Analytics Tools”), and (2) a technical identifier used to deliver notices (see “Notifications”). Neither of these contains information that could identify you, nor any of your sleep records (the time you drifted off, the mini-games you played, or your star fragments). We do not track your activity by linking your behavior to your identity, and we do not collect advertising identifiers.
How We Handle Your Sleep Records
To show your morning report, the App records the name of the last mini-game you played the night before and your star fragments on your device. These records are read and written only on your device, and are never sent to any external destination, including the Studio. We do not use the camera, microphone, location, or Health (HealthKit) at all. Sleep is detected solely from the intervals between your taps, and we never capture your image or your voice.
Data Stored on Your Device
Your star fragments, play progress, and settings (such as volume, language, and deep-night mode) are saved on your device. These may be included in an iCloud backup if you have that turned on yourself. iCloud backup is a service provided by Apple and remains under the control of your own Apple account; the Studio cannot see its contents.
Notifications
The App’s notifications are only about new nights, new features, and new releases from the Studio. We never send notices that rush you to sleep or pester you to keep playing. Notices are delivered through a push-notification service (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and to make that work, a technical identifier that points to your notification destination (a push token) is handled on Google’s servers — but it is never linked to your name or your sleep records. You can turn notification notices off at any time in the App’s settings, and you can also change the overall notification permission at any time from your device’s Settings screen.
Advertising and Analytics Tools
The App shows no advertising whatsoever. To help us improve the App, we collect anonymous usage statistics (such as which features are used) and technical information when a problem occurs, using tools provided by Google (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics). These never include your name or your sleep records (the time you drifted off, the mini-games you played, or your star fragments). We never use the information we collect for advertising or sales purposes.
In addition to the above, this arrangement means the following technical information is handled on Google’s servers: (1) an identifier generated automatically for each installation of the App (not linked to your name or the like), (2) technical information such as your device model, OS version, and language, (3) automatic usage events such as launches and screen views, and (4) a rough region (down to the level of country or city) derived from your IP address at the time of communication — the IP address itself is not stored.
Collection begins only after you have agreed to the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy at first launch. Even after you have agreed, you can stop the collection at any time using the App’s “Send usage statistics” setting (stopping crash reports takes effect the next time you launch the App).
Retention periods are as follows. Technical information about problems is kept for 90 days, after which deletion begins. The per-user portion of usage statistics is retained for up to 14 months. Technical identifiers are completely deleted, including from backups, within 180 days after the deletion procedure.
Sale and Sharing of Data
The Studio never sells or shares information about you with third parties (we do not collect information that could identify you in the first place). When Google processes usage statistics, error reports, and notification delivery on our behalf, and when Telegram delivers your inquiries on our behalf, this is entrustment for the purpose of running the service and does not constitute the sale or sharing referred to here; these providers handle data in accordance with the privacy policies each of them publishes. We do not engage in any activity that constitutes a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law (CCPA/CPRA).
Deleting Your Data
All of the App’s data (your star fragments, play progress, and settings) is stored only on your device. When you delete the App from your device, this data is deleted along with it.
Children’s Privacy
The App includes a setting that switches the display to all-hiragana, so you can use it together with your child. Whoever uses the App, our policy of not collecting information that could identify anyone — regardless of age — never changes.
Changes to This Policy
We may review the contents of this policy as we add features to the App and for similar reasons. When there is an important change, we will let you know within the App or on the page where this policy is posted.
